Shall a special one percent sales and use tax for educational purposes be imposed in Heard County for a period not to exceed twenty (20) calendar quarters and for the purpose of raising not more than $35,000,000 of net proceeds by said tax, which shall go to the School District for the purpose of (i) paying a portion of principal and interest due of outstanding Heard County Public Facilities Authority (GA) Revenue Bonds (Heard County School District Project), Series 2020 the maximum amount of total debt service to be paid shall not exceed $22,000,000; (ii) adding to, renovating, improving, equipping and furnishing existing school building and facilities, classrooms, agricultural facilities and other facilities; (iii) acquiring, constructing, equipping and furnishing new school buildings and facilities; (iv) purchasing school buses and other school vehicles; (v) acquiring technology equipment, computer hardware and software, safety and security equipment and other school equipment; (vi) acquiring textbooks and band instruments, and (vii) acquiring any capital property necessary or desirable for the foregoing purposes, both real and personal, the maximum amount to be applied to such projects not to exceed $35,000,000.
