Description:

Proposing an amendment to article 10, section 10 of the constitution of New Mexico to allow certain counties to become urban counties and to clarify the majority vote needed to adopt a county charter.

Constitutional Amendment 4 would amend Article 10, Section 10 of the Constitution of New Mexico. Constitutional Amendment 4 would allow that are less than 1500 square miles with a population over 300,000 to become urban counties. This would allow Valencia and Curry Counties to become urban counties if their populations ever reach 300,000.
