Election Contests and Ballot Measures

November 4, 2014 Virginia General Election

Virginia

Note: Candidate pictures are the most current we have on file. Because this is a past election, they may not show a candidate’s likeness at the time of the election and some of the links to websites, emails, and social media may be broken.

In addition to the office contest shown on our ballots, you may find additional county, city and local office contests on the ballot you will be given at the polls like Mayor, Member Town Council, Member Board of Supervisors, Member School Board, Commissioner of Revenue, Member County Board, Treasurer and Clerk of Court. Due to our limited resources we were unable to cover those contests.

Property tax exemption for certain veterans and surviving spouses of soldiers killed in action.
Shall Section 6-A of Article X (Taxation and Finance) of the Constitution of Virginia be amended to allow the General Assembly to exempt from taxation the real property of the surviving spouse of any member of the armed forces of the United States who was killed in action, where the surviving spouse occupies the real property as his or her principal place of residence and has not remarried?
